Living in a city apartment means you don't get much airflow unless you leave the balcony door open. But without a screen, you’re basically inviting every city fly and moth into your bed. I can’t drill into my metal door frame (renter rules!), so this Velcro system was my only hope. I was worried the city wind would just rip it off, but it’s been three weeks and it’s solid as a rock. The black mesh provides a little bit of daytime privacy, too—I can see out, but neighbors can't see directly into my living room. It makes my tiny studio feel so much bigger and fresher. It’s easily the best $40 I’ve spent on this apartment. It folds up small, so if I move next year, it's coming with me.

Salt-air resistant and still looking brand new.
I live right on the coast in North Carolina. The salt air eats through metal screens in a single season, leaving them rusty and brittle. This fiberglass Zoormesh has been a revelation. No rust, no corrosion, and the black color hasn't faded even with the intense beach sun. It keeps the sand flies out of our kitchen, which used to be an impossible task. Finally a screen for my non-square door frame.
Older houses settle, and my back door frame is slightly "off." A traditional wooden screen door never hangs right—it either drags or leaves a wedge-shaped gap at the top. I’ve wasted so much money on the $15-$20 screens you find at big-box stores. My Labrador, Buster, doesn't understand the concept of "waiting."
